Biography

Trio Juriti was a traditional forró group formed by siblings Mestrinho and Thaís Nogueira, who are the children of musicians Erivaldo de Carira and grandchildren of the renowned eight-bass player Manézinho de Carira. The trio, which also featured Scurinho on zabumba, became known for their authentic forró sound and performances across Brazil, including major cities like São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Belo Horizonte.

During their career, Trio Juriti received critical acclaim and were recognized as a "revelation trio" at a traditional forró festival in Itaúnas, Espírito Santo, for their original song "Mais um dia sem te ver." At the same event, they shared the stage with esteemed forró artists such as Dominguinhos and Trio Nordestino, highlighting their growing prominence in the genre.

The group released several albums, including "Trio Juriti e banda" and "Forró irresistível," both produced by the acclaimed composer João Silva. They also participated in live recordings and DVDs, such as "Festival Rootstock," further solidifying their presence in the Brazilian music scene. While Mestrinho later pursued a solo career, the original lineup of Trio Juriti has occasionally reunited, much to the delight of fans who appreciate their contribution to traditional forró music.
