Formed in São Paulo in 1982, Trio Xamego is a Brazilian forró group that has dedicated itself to preserving and performing traditional Northeastern Brazilian music. The group was founded by Dió de Araújo, a singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist who has had a career spanning over five decades. Trio Xamego's music is characterized by its authentic forró pé-de-serra sound, featuring instruments like the accordion, zabumba, and triangle, and often incorporating romantic lyrics and energetic rhythms that invite dancing.

Throughout their career, Trio Xamego has released several albums, including "Forró Agarradinho" (2001), "Novinho em Folha" (2005), and "Vem Cá Ser Feliz" (2017). They have also collaborated with renowned artists such as Anastácia, participating in her DVD "Daquele jeito," which was nominated for a Latin Grammy. The group's commitment to traditional forró has earned them a respected place in Brazilian music, and they continue to perform for audiences in Brazil and internationally.
