Biography
Troá is a musical duo from Rio de Janeiro formed by Manuella Terra (drums) and Carolina Mathias (bass and keyboard). The duo's name, "Troá", comes from the French word "trois", which means "three", in reference to the three sounds they create: bass, drums, and keyboard.
The duo released their first EP, "Miolo", in 2018, followed by their debut album "Eu Não Morreria Sem Dizer" in 2019. In 2023, they released their second album, "Deboche", which features guest appearances by artists such as Letrux, Boogarins, and Tuyo. Troá's sound spans genres such as rock, jazz, blues, and american funk, with influences from trip hop, folk, forró, and reggae, often blended with rock, blues, and MPB.
Troá's compositions explore themes about life, reality, resilience, and sarcasm as a way of dealing with chaos and routine. The duo has stood out in the independent Brazilian music scene, with performances at festivals and online platforms, and has toured to promote their work.
