Biography

Joseff Gomes da Silva, better known by his stage name Tubarão, is a Brazilian DJ, singer, rapper, and songwriter. Originally from the coast of São Paulo, he gained national prominence for his compositions that transition between rap and funk, addressing themes such as overcoming adversity, ostentation, and peripheral life.

Inspired by groups like Racionais MC's and Beastie Boys, Tubarão formed his first rap group at age 12. As a DJ, he was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2016 for his solo CD "Faz a Festa Funk". He is also the lead singer and songwriter for the band Conexão Baixada, with which he released albums like "Pássaro sem dono" and "Pra que lutar em vão".

Tubarão is known for being one of the few independent Brazilian artists to collaborate officially with the American rapper Snoop Dogg. His song "Na Imaginação", in partnership with DJ L30, reached millions of streams.
