Biography
Antônio César Queiroz Fernandes da Silva, known artistically as Tuca Fernandes, was born in Salvador, Bahia, on December 11, 1964. He began his career on vocals for the band Diário Oficial, where he stayed from 1985 until 1993, before taking over as lead singer of the group Jheremias Não Bate Corner between the years 1994 and 1998.
His national projection was consolidated starting in 1998, when he founded the band Jammil e Uma Noites alongside other musicians. During his tenure in the group, which lasted until 2011, Tuca experienced the phase of greatest commercial and popular repercussion of the project, charting memorable axé music hits like "Praieiro", "Ê Saudade" and "É Verão", dialoguing with the sounds of established artists of the genre such as Ivete Sangalo.
In April 2011, he chose to leave Jammil e Uma Noites to dedicate himself entirely to his solo career. Throughout his career, he has built a strong connection with audiences from various Brazilian states, even receiving the title of honorary citizen of Belo Horizonte by virtue of the impact of his songs in the capital of Minas Gerais.
