Biography

Turma do Balão Mágico was a hugely popular Brazilian children's musical group formed in 1982 by Simony, Tob, and Mike Biggs. The band achieved massive commercial success, selling millions of copies of their albums and starring in their own television show on Rede Globo, which captivated a generation of young Brazilians in the 1980s. Throughout their active years, the group collaborated with renowned MPB artists such as Djavan and Baby Consuelo, bridging the gap between children's music and mainstream Brazilian popular culture.

The group underwent several line-up changes as the original members grew older, introducing new participants like Jairzinho, Ricardinho, and later Luciana Mello. Despite significant member departures and eventual disbandment in 1986, their legacy endured, inspiring future children's acts and leading to reunion tours and a 2023 documentary series chronicling their phenomenal history.
