Biography

Udora was a Brazilian rock band originally formed in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, in 1997 under the name Diesel. The original lineup featured Gustavo Drummond, Jean Dolabella, Leo Marques, and Thiago Correa. They gained national recognition after winning a contest that secured them a spot at the 2001 Rock in Rio festival, where they performed in front of a massive crowd.

Following their festival appearance, the group relocated to Los Angeles in pursuit of an international career, similar to the path taken by Sepultura. Due to trademark pressures from the Italian fashion brand Diesel, the band officially changed its name to Udora in 2002. They worked with notable producers such as Matt Wallace and Thom Russo, eventually releasing their debut international album, Liberty Square, in 2005.

In 2006, the band returned to Brazil and shifted toward recording in Portuguese, culminating in the release of their commercially successful album Goodbye, Alô. The record featured hit singles like "Quero te ver bem" and "Pelo Menos Hoje," which were included in the soundtrack of the popular Brazilian television soap opera Malhação. After disbanding, frontman Gustavo Drummond eventually returned to the music scene years later with the band Oceania.
