Biography

Ultramen is a Brazilian band formed in Porto Alegre in 1991, standing out for a diverse sound that blends rock, funk, rap, samba-rock, soul and reggae. The project was born from the union between bassist Pedro Porto and drummer Zé Darcy, who were soon joined by vocalist Tonho Crocco to solidify the group's identity in the music scene of Rio Grande do Sul.

Throughout their career, the band has released landmark albums such as their self-titled debut in 1998 — under Dado Villa-Lobos's label —, the successful Olelê in 2000, which featured the hit "Dívida", and later works like O Incrível Caso da Música Que Encolheu e Outras Histórias and Capa Preta. The group has also shared stages and projects with major names in Southern Brazilian music, participating in initiatives such as Acústico MTV: Bandas Gaúchas alongside artists like Wander Wildner, Cachorro Grande and Bidê ou Balde.

After a period of hiatus and subsequent returns to the stage, the lineup has undergone updates while maintaining its innovative spirit, culminating in the release of albums such as Tente Enxergar and new singles. Ultramen's contribution remains one of the most original and consistent references in the fusion of urban and alternative genres in contemporary Brazilian music.
