Biography

Valentino Guzzo was born in São Paulo on March 26, 1936, standing out throughout his career as a Brazilian actor, television producer, singer, songwriter, and comedian. Starting his artistic career in the 1950s, he worked in theater, film, and photonovels, participating in well-known productions such as Absolutamente Certo and As Amorosas. On television, he worked in various technical roles before establishing himself as a producer and director at networks such as Rede Tupi, TV Excelsior, and Record, collaborating closely with major names in national communication.

In addition to his work behind the scenes as a producer of musicals and comedy sketches in programs hosted by celebrated figures such as Silvio Santos, Chacrinha, Raul Gil, and Bibi Ferreira, Valentino achieved enormous public recognition by portraying the iconic Vovó Mafalda on the clown Bozo's show. The character's massive success allowed him to host his own shows aimed at children, cementing his name in the history of Brazilian television.

Valentino Guzzo passed away in São Paulo on December 8, 1998, as the victim of a sudden heart attack. He left a striking legacy in popular culture and television, and is also the father of singer Beth Guzzo. His multifaceted career ranged from dramatic acting to humor and the musical production of important variety shows.
