Biography

Vange Milliet is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and photographer born in São Paulo on June 25, 1967. Before fully committing to her musical path, she explored other fields, briefly studying social sciences at USP and advertising at ESPM. Her professional music career began in 1988 when she formed a duo with Chico César, balancing their artistic ambitions with other professions before making music their primary focus. During her trajectory, she collaborated with prominent figures such as Zé Keti, Luís Vagner, and Itamar Assumpção, performing with bands like Isca de Polícia and Orquídeas.

In 1994, Vange launched her solo career backed by the group Paulada na Moleira, featuring Paulo Lepetit on bass, Chico César on acoustic guitar and backing vocals, and Renato Braz on percussion and backing vocals. Her self-titled debut album, released in 1995, became a cult classic and helped introduce then-lesser-known talents to a wider audience, including Zeca Baleiro, Lenine, Rita Ribeiro, and André Abujamra. The record was well received both in Brazil and internationally, marking an important milestone in the new generation of Brazilian music.

Throughout her career, Vange expanded her artistic footprint with subsequent releases such as her second album Arrepiô in 1998 and Tudo em mim anda a mil in 2002, produced by Zeca Baleiro and Paulo Lepetit. Her work has taken her on tours across Brazil, Europe, and Africa, while also contributing to dance and film scores, including a collaboration with Tom Zé on the Grupo Corpo dance production Santagustin. Her songwriting and performances have solidified her enduring presence in contemporary Brazilian popular music.
