Biography

Born on January 14, 1964, Veco Marques is a prominent Brazilian musician, widely recognized as the guitarist for the legendary pop-rock band Nenhum de Nós. His musical journey began in his childhood in Santa Cruz do Sul, influenced by artists like The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, and Bob Dylan. A pivotal moment was seeing a red Giannini guitar in a shop window, sparking a lifelong passion for the instrument. Marques is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, whose sonic identity is deeply rooted in the folk music of Rio Grande do Sul, blended with influences from international rock.

Marques's career gained significant traction when he collaborated with renowned Brazilian musician Renato Borghetti on his first album in 1984. Shortly after, in 1987, he was invited to join Nenhum de Nós, a band with which he has remained a core member, contributing to their enduring success and consistent presence in Brazilian music. Alongside his work with Nenhum de Nós, Marques has also been involved in other musical projects, such as a collaboration with Diego Dias on the album "Pão de Queijo e Chimarrão," and has also ventured into music production.

Beyond his musical endeavors, Veco Marques also has a background in advertising and propaganda, having graduated in the field. He is married to Karen, an architect, and they have a daughter, Maria Eduarda. Marques is known for his dedication to his craft, his authenticity, and his deep connection to his roots, embodying a rare blend of quiet leadership and visceral passion for music.
