Formed in Maceió, Alagoas, in 1998, Vibrações is a Brazilian reggae band that blends the traditional Jamaican sound with the diverse musical landscape of Brazil, particularly its Northeastern region. Their music is characterized by infectious rhythms, drawing from Afro-Brazilian and indigenous percussive traditions. Lyrically, Vibrações addresses social issues, advocating for non-violence, peace, love, and justice for the underprivileged. The band aims to challenge aesthetic, musical, and regional stereotypes, fostering a sense of belonging and cultural representation for marginalized Brazilians, especially those from the Northeast and of Black descent.
