Biography

Silvina Maria Miranda Calmon de Souza, known professionally as Vina Calmon, is a Brazilian singer born in Santa Maria da Boa Vista, Pernambuco. Raised in Sobradinho, Bahia, she displayed an early passion for music and began her professional singing career as a teenager. Before finding mainstream success, she performed in various forró projects before taking on the role of lead singer for the axé band Axerife, where she spent five years developing her stage presence and vocal talents.

Following her tenure with Axerife, Calmon achieved widespread recognition when she was invited to front the famous axé band Cheiro de Amor, succeeding Alinne Rosa after the 2014 carnival. During her decade-long run with Cheiro de Amor, she delivered energetic performances and released notable tracks such as "Swing de Mainha", "Chamar Você", and "Proposta Indecente" featuring Lucas Lucco. Her dynamic performances earned her accolades such as the Troféu Band Folia for Revelation Singer and recognition at the Troféu Dodô & Osmar.

In June 2024, Calmon officially launched her solo career with the release of her debut single "Beija Eu", produced and composed by Rafinha RSQ. She further expanded her musical repertoire by releasing the electronic forró track "Sinais" and the summer collaboration "Toma" alongside singer Tony Salles. Throughout her career, she has cemented her place in contemporary Bahian music alongside peers like Ivete Sangalo and Claudia Leitte.
