Biography

Born in Bordeaux, France, in 1972, Vincent Bourgeyx began his musical journey at the age of seven with piano studies. He pursued musicology at Bordeaux University before heading to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he spent four years honing his craft. During his time in the United States, Bourgeyx formed his own trio, performing regularly in the US and Japan. His academic excellence was recognized when he became the first student to receive the Billboard magazine prize, securing a full scholarship for his studies.

Upon graduating from Berklee in 1997, Bourgeyx relocated to New York City, quickly becoming an integral part of the vibrant jazz scene. He collaborated and recorded with a notable roster of musicians, including Ravi Coltrane, Mark Turner, Greg Tardy, and Antonio Sanchez, among many others. His performances extended to renowned venues and festivals such as Sweet Basil, the Blue Note, and the Free Jazz Festival in Brazil.

Returning to France, Bourgeyx continued to be a prominent figure in the European jazz circuit, performing with leading French musicians like Sylvain Beuf and André Ceccarelli. He has also achieved recognition beyond performance, winning a soloist prize at the Jazz Competition of La Défense in 2003 and composing film scores, including music for Alfred Hitchcock's silent film "Blackmail." Bourgeyx also shares his knowledge as a piano instructor at institutions in Paris and Paris-Saclay.
