Biography

The group Viola de Nóis emerged in 2000, in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, with the proposal of exalting Brazilian roots music, especially the ten-string caipira guitar (viola caipira). The initial partnership featured the viola player Pena Branca, from the renowned duo Pena Branca & Xavantinho, marking the release of the CD "Semente caipira".

Throughout its trajectory, Viola de Nóis has been dedicated to preserving and disseminating the rich musical culture of the backcountry and the countryside. In 2010, they released the CD "Longas estradas", which reflects the essence of their compositions and the depth of their interpretations. The group stands out for its ability to execute the diverse rhythms and tunings of the viola caipira, keeping alive the tradition of modas de viola, cateretês and toadas.

With a repertoire that celebrates Brazilian identity, Viola de Nóis performs in various formations, always with the objective of moving and connecting the public with the roots of national music. The group's authentic sound, combined with their passion for the viola, makes them an important exponent of Brazilian regional and popular music.
