Biography

Vitor Araújo is a renowned Brazilian pianist and composer born in Recife. He began his musical journey playing the violin at the age of nine before establishing himself as a prominent figure in contemporary piano music. Throughout his career, he has released several notable albums, including his second album A/B in 2012, Levaguiã Terê in 2016, and the 2021 collaborative album Lágrimas do Mar with Arnaldo Antunes.

Beyond his solo discography, Araújo has built a prolific career scoring and contributing music for cinema and theater. His composition Valsa para Lua was featured in films by director Petra Costa, and he also produced music for the acclaimed documentary Edge of Democracy. Furthermore, he composed the theme song for Anna Muylaert's award-winning film The Second Mother and has collaborated extensively with theater director Christiane Jatahy on international projects.

In 2026, Araújo released the album Toró, recorded in collaboration with the renowned Dutch ensemble Metropole Orkest. His innovative approach to the piano merges classical sensibilities with contemporary Brazilian music, cementing his status as an influential artist on both national and international stages alongside contemporaries like Arnaldo Antunes.
