Biography

Vivendo do Ócio is a Brazilian rock band formed in Salvador, Bahia, in 2006. The band emerged from the friendship between Jajá Cardoso (vocals and guitar) and Luca Bori (bass and vocals), who had previously played together in a hardcore group. Their initial sound sought inspiration from names like The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and The Strokes, blending classic and contemporary rock influences.

The name "Vivendo do Ócio" came about organically, reflecting the daily routine of the members who spent their afternoons composing and playing, and their nights performing at parties around the city. The lineup solidified with the addition of Davide Bori (guitar), Luca's brother, and, after a few changes on drums, Gabriel Burgos took over the position in 2023. Throughout their career, the band has released several albums, including "Teorias de Amor Moderno" (2008), "Nem Sempre Tão Normal" (2009), "O Pensamento é um Ímã" (2012), "Selva Mundo" (2015), "Vivendo do Ócio" (2020), and "Hasta la Bahia" (2025).

The band gained national notoriety in 2009 with the album "Nem Sempre Tão Normal" and the "Aposta MTV" award at the VMB. With a consolidated career, Vivendo do Ócio has become a reference in Brazilian alternative rock, known for their energetic shows and ability to blend influences, incorporating elements of funk, soul, and MPB into their sound, especially in more recent works like "Hasta la Bahia", which celebrates the band's Bahian roots.
