Biography

Wagner Segura is a Brazilian musician, professor, composer, arranger, and producer, widely recognized as a key figure in the dissemination of choro music in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina. Although born in São Paulo, he adopted Florianópolis as his home and has dedicated his life to music education and performance. His passion for choro was ignited in his youth by influential musicians like Waldir Azevedo and Jacob do Bandolim, leading him to master instruments such as the cavaquinho, bandolim, and seven-string guitar.

Throughout his career, Segura has been instrumental in fostering musical talent, founding the Centro Musical Wagner Segura, which has nurtured generations of musicians in Santa Catarina. He has also collaborated with and accompanied numerous renowned Brazilian artists, including Paulo Moura, Altamiro Carrilho, and Ademilde Fonseca, further solidifying his reputation within the Brazilian music scene. His contributions extend to samba music, where he has been actively involved in carnival parades for over three decades, holding musical director positions for several samba schools.

Segura's dedication to Brazilian music is evident in his diverse projects, which include online courses, educational materials like the "No Grau" platform for ear training, and his involvement with the online school "Levada Brasileira."
