Biography

Walmir Borges is a Brazilian singer, composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist with a career spanning over three decades.

Born into a musical family, with a singer mother and a double bass player father, Borges began his career in 1994, accompanying and producing samba groups and MPB artists. He has collaborated with a wide array of renowned Brazilian musicians, including Alcione, Alexandre Pires, Paula Lima, Seu Jorge, and Roberto Frejat. His versatility is evident in his work across various genres, from samba and pagode to MPB and soul.

Borges has also gained international recognition, notably through his collaboration with Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire, which resulted in the composition of new songs. He has also been involved in prominent television projects, such as being part of the orchestra for "Domingão do Faustão." His musical style is often described as "Brasil World Music," blending traditional Brazilian rhythms with modern influences and innovation. He has released several albums, including "Sala da Música" (2011) and "Estúdio Showlivre (Ao Vivo)" (2018), and has also worked as a musical director for various events and artists.
