Biography

Walter Bandeira was born in Belém, Pará, on August 31, 1941. A singer, actor, teacher, painter, and radio announcer, he stood out in the cultural scene of Pará starting in the 1960s, working as an orchestra crooner and actively participating in the musical scene of his native region.

Throughout his career, he was connected to important names in Brazilian music and helped boost the careers of renowned artists. He performed alongside figures such as Pery Ribeiro and Johnny Alf, in addition to being part of prominent projects like the Quinteto Sam & Walter Bandeira and the group Gema. Without seeking national projection, he concentrated his work in Pará, recording albums such as "Guardados & Perdidos", released posthumously in 2009, the year he passed away due to esophageal cancer.

In addition to his musical work, Walter Bandeira exerted a strong cultural influence as a voice and diction professor at the Federal University of Pará and as an announcer for advertising pieces. His artistic versatility also led him to theater and cinema, participating in the film "Lendas Amazônicas".
