Biography

Wellington Santos is a Brazilian trumpeter, composer, and educator who has established a significant presence in the national and international music scene. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Trumpet from the Mozarteum University of São Paulo and a postgraduate degree from Lynn University in the USA. His career includes performances with various orchestras such as the Southwest Symphony Orchestra (USA), the Festival Orchestra (Bulgaria), the Minas Gerais Symphony Orchestra, and the Amazonas Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.

As a founding member of ensembles like SPBrass Quintet and The Off Side, Santos has also been active in chamber music. He has shared the stage with notable artists, including Brandford Marsalis, and has been recognized for his contributions to brass music. Beyond his performance career, Wellington Santos is dedicated to music education, serving as a trumpet instructor at the Guri Santa Marcelina Association and directing musical projects for the Fábrica de Cultura.

Santos is also the creator of the "Quintetar | Música em Diversidade" festival and runs the YouTube channel "TromPeticando," where he shares his knowledge and passion for the trumpet. His commitment to promoting music and fostering new talent underscores his multifaceted role in the Brazilian music landscape.
