William Magalhães is a prominent Brazilian pianist, arranger, and music producer, born on December 21, 1965, in Rio de Janeiro. He is the son of the renowned saxophonist Oberdan Magalhães, the founder of Banda Black Rio. This musical legacy deeply influenced William, who, after the band's dissolution and his father's passing, took on the responsibility of reviving Banda Black Rio in 2000, continuing its innovative sound that fused Brazilian rhythms with international funk and soul.

Magalhães has established himself as a versatile and respected figure in the Brazilian music scene. His career is marked by extensive collaborations with a wide array of celebrated artists. He has lent his talents as a musician and arranger to albums by iconic figures such as Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, Caetano Veloso, Ed Motta, Marina Lima, Daniela Mercury, Kid Abelha, and Paralamas do Sucesso, among many others.
