Biography

Wilson Bombeiro is a Brazilian composer and singer, known for his contributions to samba and his involvement with the Beija-Flor samba school.

His career gained traction in the early 1970s when his compositions began to be recorded by established artists. In 1971, the renowned samba singer Candeia recorded "Silêncio tamborim," a song co-written by Bombeiro and Anézio, for his album "Seguinte… Raiz." This collaboration marked an important early recognition of Bombeiro's songwriting talent.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Wilson Bombeiro continued to have his work performed by other artists, solidifying his presence in the Brazilian music scene. Sonia Lemos interpreted "Voltei" (co-written with Anézio) in 1976, and Leci Brandão included "Epitáfio de um sambista" in her album "Questão de gosto" in the same year. Later, in 1988, Alcione's album was titled "Ouro e Cobre," featuring a song of the same name co-authored by Bombeiro and Anézio. His compositions have also been featured on albums by Tião Motorista and Zilá Machado, demonstrating the breadth of his influence within samba and popular Brazilian music.
