Biography

José Alexandre da Silva Filho, known artistically as Xand Avião, was born in Itaú, Rio Grande do Norte, in 1982. Throughout his journey, he lived in different northeastern cities before settling in Fortaleza, where he began his consolidation in the forró musical scene. His career gained enormous national projection starting in 2002, when he became the lead singer of the renowned band Aviões do Forró, a project he led alongside other founders and businessmen until 2018.

After years of great prominence at the head of the group, Xand decided to pursue a solo career starting in 2018, maintaining his relevance in electronic forró. In his solo discography, works such as the album Voando Alto and the DVD Errejota Ao Vivo, recorded in Rio de Janeiro, stand out, featuring special appearances, including that of singer Gusttavo Lima. The artist continues to release successful projects, such as the albums Viva la Vida, MiXtura, and Xand's Bar.

Before achieving national fame with Aviões do Forró, Xand went through other musical formations, such as the bands Estilo Musical and Caviar com Rapadura. His voice became one of the trademarks of modern forró, cementing his name among the great exponents of the genre in Brazil. He remains active in music, recording both unreleased songs and traditional classics of the northeastern rhythm.
