Biography

Xênia França is a Brazilian singer and songwriter who emerged as a prominent voice in contemporary MPB and pop. Born in Bahia and later relocating to São Paulo, she initially worked as a model before starting her musical journey singing in bars and collaborating with influential artists such as Emicida. She subsequently joined the musical collective Aláfia, establishing herself in the underground and alternative music scenes before launching her acclaimed solo career.

Her debut self-titled solo album, released in 2017, brought widespread critical acclaim and earned her Latin Grammy nominations. Expanding her reach internationally, she became the first Brazilian artist to perform on the renowned YouTube music platform COLORS and has performed at major international venues like SummerStage in Central Park. Her sophomore album, Em Nome da Estrela, won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Portuguese Language Contemporary Pop Album in 2023, cementing her status as a cultural innovator.

Throughout her career, Xênia has collaborated with numerous notable figures in Brazilian and international music, including Luedji Luna, Larissa Luz, Djavan, Gilberto Gil, and Arthur Verocai.
