Biography

José Toscano Martins Neto, known artistically as Zé Neto, is a prominent Brazilian singer and songwriter. He is most famous for being one half of the highly successful sertanejo duo Zé Neto & Cristiano. Born in São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo, Zé Neto's early life was marked by humble beginnings. He grew up working on his family's farm, and his passion for sertanejo music was evident from a young age, with influences like João Paulo & Daniel, Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano, and Leandro & Leonardo shaping his musical aspirations.

Zé Neto's musical journey began with forming various duos, initially as a second voice before deciding to step into the lead role. In 2011, he joined forces with his childhood friend Cristiano, and together they formed Zé Neto & Cristiano. Their early work featured a significant amount of original compositions, with both artists contributing to the songwriting process. The duo gained considerable traction with their 2012 album 'Entre Amigos' and achieved widespread popularity in 2016 with their live project 'Ao Vivo em São José do Rio Preto' and the hit song 'Seu Polícia'.

Over the years, Zé Neto & Cristiano have become one of Brazil's most commercially successful sertanejo duos, known for hits like 'Largado às Traças' and 'Status Que Eu Não Queria'.
