Biography
Zeca Veloso is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and the son of the iconic musician Caetano Veloso and producer/actress Paula Lavigne. He began his musical journey by studying piano as a child and later learning guitar from Cézar Mendes. Veloso also explored Rio de Janeiro's electronic music scene during his youth. He gained national attention in 2017 when he performed alongside his father and brothers, Moreno and Tom Veloso, during the "Ofertório" tour. During this tour, he introduced his composition "Todo Homem," which quickly became a hit, topping Spotify's Viral Top 50 chart and serving as the opening theme for the acclaimed TV series "Onde Nascem os Fortes.".
Veloso's music blends various influences, including Brazilian folk, axé, soul, and cinematic elements. His debut solo album, "Boas Novas," is slated for release in 2025 and features collaborations with his family and other notable artists such as Xande de Pilares and Dora Morelenbaum, with production by Jaques Morelenbaum and Pretinho da Serrinha.. He has also released singles like "A Rota do Indivíduo (Ferrugem)" and "O Sopro do Fole," the latter being part of the soundtrack for the telenovela "Pantanal.". In 2023, he launched his first solo show, "Desenho de Animação," touring several Brazilian cities.. Zeca Veloso's artistic approach is characterized by a blend of tradition and innovation, establishing him as a compelling voice in contemporary Brazilian music.
